About Census 2010

April 1 was National Census Day for the year 2010. Every 10 years, the Census Bureau conducts a complete count of all residents in the United States. The U.S. Constitution requires a census every 10 years to allocate or reapportion seats in the House of Representatives fairly among the 50 states. The census is also used for many other purposes including the allocation of federal and state funds to local communities. This page is a collection of sites with information about the results of Census 2010 and Census 2000. Information about the preparations for the 2010 Census have remained for reference purposes.
