Regulatory Provisions and Permit Applications

  • Chelan Municipal Code Chapter 5.22 - Yard Sales - Requires permit, restricted to two sales per year maximum 3 consecutive days
  • Clark County Code Section 40.260.090 - Garage Sales - No permit required, allow 2 times a year for no more than 3 days, includes sign provisions

  • Lacey Municipal Code Chapter 5.34 - Garage Sales - License required, no more then 4 per year, not more than 4 consecutive days
  • Lakewood Municipal Code Chapter 5.12 - Pawnshops, Secondhand, Antique, Junk and/or Salvage Dealers, Transient Traders in Secondhand Property, Private Sales and Flea Markets - Permit required, four sales per year limited to four consecutive days
  • Longview Municipal Code Section 5.05.110 (22) - Exemptions - Includes garage sales - Restricted to 20 days a year and no more than 4 sucessive days per event,  requires compliance with sign regulations.
  • Monroe Municipal Code Chapter 5.04 - Garage Sales  - No permit required, restricted to one every thirty days, maximum 3 a year, no more than 3 consecutive days
  • Mount Vernon Municipal Code Chapter 5.60 ( 328 KB)-  Garage Sales - No permit, restricted to once per quarter or four times per calendar year and not more than 3 consecutive days
  • Newport Municipal Code Chapter 5.30 ( 124 KB) - Garage Sales - Restricted to 10 calendar days per year, maximum of 4 consecutive days 
  • Olympia Municipal Code Chapter 5.24 - Garage Sale - No more than 2 per year at residential premises, 1 per month at an apartment premises, must be 4 months since last sale,  maximum length is four consecutive days
  • Othello Municipal Code Chapter 4.24 - Garage Sales - Permit required, no more than 3 times a year, no more than 3 days
  • Puyallup Municipal Code Section 20.70.010(3) - Permitted temporary uses – Residential zones - Garage Sales - Limited to 4 times a year and  3 days in any one month.
  • Shelton Municipal Code Chapter 5.30-  Yard Sales - Permit required, limited to 2 times a year
  • Sunnyside Municipal Code Chapter 5.18 - Yard Sales, Rummage Sales, etc - Requires permit, limits sales to 3 consecutive days in length and 4 yard sales per year

  • Thurston County Code Chapter 6.30 - Garage Sales - Permit required, 2 per year not exceeding 3 days each
  • Yakima Municipal Code Section  15.04.060 - Yard sales - 2 per dwelling unit per year,  not to exceed 3 days
  • Yelm Municipal Code Chapter 5.36 - Garage Sales - Permit required, limited to 2 per year, cannot exceed 6 days, and must be 4 months apart
