A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE CONFIRMING ITS COMMITMENT TO WORKING WITH THE CITY OF ARLINGTON IN DEVELOPING REGIONAL SOLUTIONS TO ISSUES FACING BOTH ENTITIES
WHEREAS, the City of Marysville and the City of Arlington have a long history of working together to solve local and regional issues; and
WHEREAS, it is prudent and good business sense to partner with the city of Arlington for the purpose of addressing issues facing both jurisdications; and
WHEREAS, the citizens of the City of Marysville and the State of Washington, through the initiative process, have communicated the need for governmental entities to think "outside the box' and develop partnerships that benefit its taxpayers; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is in the best interest of the citizens and businesses of the City to continue the exploration of joint ventures with the City of Arlington to address issues facing North Snohomish County; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE, WASHINGTON AS FOLLOWS:
- The Governmental Affairs Committee shall continue meeting with the Arlington
Governmental Affairs Committee to explore issues that can be addressed jointly
by both entities. Potential areas for regional solutions are as follows:
- Stream Enhancement within the North Snohomish County region_
- Regional storm water issues facing North Marysville and South Arlington.
- Joint facility for Police services.
- Joint facility for heavy equipment storage.
- oint park and recreation uses.
- Regional Transportation Issues.
- City staff shall assist this committee by meeting with City of Arlington Staff and bringing forward suggestions for joint ventures.
