Resolution No. M-3351
A RESOLUTION appointing an agent to receive claims for damages as required by RCW 4.96.020, as amended by EHB 1530.
WHEREAS, state law requires that a claim for damages against a municipality be presented to and filed with the governing body of the local government entity; and
WHEREAS, EHB 1530, which was passed by the 2001 Legislature, amends RCW 4.96.020 to require that each local government appoint an identified agent to receive claims for damages; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the appropriate agent for receipt of any such claims filed against the City of Vancouver is the City's Risk Manager.
NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF VANCOUVER:
Section 1. As recommended in SR-164-01, pursuant to RCW 4.96.020 as amended by EHB 1530, the City's Risk Manager is hereby designated as the agent to receive all claims for damages filed against the City of Vancouver.
Section 2. All claims for damages filed against the City of Vancouver shall be presented to:

Section 3. A copy of this resolution shall be filed for recording with the Clark County Auditor's Office.
