What is a guest speaker, and what are the
minimum qualifications to be a guest speaker for basic and
developmental disabilities specialty training? Guest speakers
for basic and developmental disabilities specialty training teach
a specific subject in which they have expertise, under the
supervision of the instructor. A guest speaker must have as
minimum qualifications, an appropriate background and experience
that demonstrates that the guest speaker has expertise on the
topic he or she will teach. The instructor must select guest
speakers that meet the minimum qualifications, and maintain
documentation of this background. DSHS does not approve guest
speakers.
