What requirements apply to electrically
driven or controlled irrigation machines? (1) If an electrically
driven or controlled irrigation machine has a stationary point, a
driven ground rod must be connected to the machine at the
stationary point for lightning protection.
(2) The main disconnecting means for a center pivot
irrigation machine must be located at the point of connection of
electrical power to the machine and must be readily accessible
and capable of being locked in the open position. A
disconnecting means must be provided for each motor and
controller.
