Personal protection clothing and equipment. See WAC 296-800-160 for additional personal protective equipment
requirements.
(1) Rings or other jewelry that could create a hazard should
not be worn by employees while in the performance of their work.
(2) Protective footwear.
• Employees who work in areas where there is a possibility
of foot injury due to falling or rolling objects must wear safety
type footwear.
• Employers will supply shoe guards and toe protectors.
• Employers must also make safety shoes available for
purchase by employees at not more than actual cost to the
employer.
(3) Calks or other suitable footwear that will afford
reasonable protection from slipping must be:
• Worn while working on logs.
• Made available at not more than actual cost to the
employer.
