Security and control of radioactive
material and radiation machines. (1) Licensed radioactive
materials and registered radiation machines shall be secured
from, or controlled in such a manner so as to prevent,
unauthorized access or removal from the place of storage.
(2) Each portable gauge licensee shall use a minimum of
two independent physical controls that form tangible barriers
to secure portable gauges from unauthorized removal, whenever
portable gauges are not under the control and constant
surveillance of the licensee.
(3) Licensed radioactive materials in an unrestricted
area and not in storage shall be tended under the constant
surveillance and immediate control of the licensee.
(4) Registered radiation machines in an unrestricted area
and not in storage shall be under the control of the
registrant.
