WAC 192-140-010
Personal identification number. (1) The
first time you call the unemployment information and weekly
claims line to obtain information about your claim or to file
a weekly claim for benefits, you must set up a
personal identification number (PIN). This number is your
electronic signature on all claims filed by telephone and its
use is equivalent to your signature on written forms.
(2) Security of the PIN is your responsibility. You are
responsible for any payments made as a result of the use of
this PIN unless you provide evidence showing that the
individual using your PIN was not authorized to do so. Your
PIN must be reset if you forget it or if someone
else, including an employee of the department, learns your
PIN. You are responsible for either
contacting the unemployment claims telecenter to set up a new PIN or setting up a new PIN using the
department's internet site.
