WAC 182-12-211
If department of retirement systems makes
a formal determination of retroactive eligibility, may the
retiree enroll in PEBB retiree insurance coverage? (1) When
the Washington state department of retirement systems (DRS)
makes a formal determination that a person is retroactively
eligible for pension benefits that person may apply for
enrollment in a PEBB health plan only if application is made
within sixty days after the date of notice from DRS.
(2) All premiums due from the date of eligibility
established by DRS or the date of the DRS decision letter, at
the option of the retiree, must be sent with the application
to the PEBB program.
(3) The director may make an exception to the date PEBB
retiree insurance coverage commences or payment of premiums;
however, such requests must demonstrate extraordinary
circumstances beyond the control of the retiree.
