WAC 173-230-010
What is the purpose of this regulation? When wastewater treatment plants are properly operated, public
health and the state's waters are protected. Operators must meet
minimum standards to assure they are competent to operate and
maintain wastewater treatment plants. This rule establishes the
requirements for obtaining a wastewater certificate and for the
level of certificate required for an operator in responsible
charge of a treatment plant. An operator in responsible charge
of a wastewater treatment plant must be certified at a level that
is equal to or greater than the classification of the wastewater
treatment plant.
