Other labeling requirements for small grain,
field pea, lentil, and/or soybean seed. In addition to the
information required on the label in WAC 16-301-015, the
following requirements also apply:
(1) Small grain seed - labels for small grain seed must
include the following information:
(a) Each variety (e.g., Nugaines), whether the variety is
typically a winter or spring sown variety, and kind (e.g.,
wheat); or may not be shown if the label conspicuously shows the
words "typical sowing season not stated";
(b) A tetrazolium test may be used in lieu of germination if
the label states "Tetrazolium...%," and that a germination test
of the lot is in process and shall be made available to the
purchaser when completed. The label shall also show the calendar
month and year the tetrazolium test was completed.
(2) Small grain, field pea, lentil, and/or soybean seed - the following shall apply for labeling of small grain, field pea,
lentil, and/or soybean seed:
(a) When seed is distributed in bulk the required label
information must be on the invoice or other document accompanying
the distribution of the seed;
(b) The seed labeling registrant may provide the required
label information as a guaranteed analysis at the time of
distribution if the label, invoice, or other document
accompanying the seed states "guaranteed analysis," and the
results of a purity and germination test of a representative
sample are made available to the purchaser no later than thirty
days following the initial distribution of the lot;
(c) Seed held in storage for bulk distribution or invoice
labeling, shall be plainly identified on the storage unit(s) with
the required label information;
(d) Small grain, field pea, lentil, and/or soybean seed is
deemed mislabeled if the seed contains restricted noxious weed
singly or collectively in excess of 100 per pound.
