WAC 16-228-1260
What are the restrictions on the
distribution of tributyltin products? (1) The distribution
for use in Washington state of paint, stain, paint additives,
or similar products containing any chemical form of
tributyltin for use in interiors of inhabited structures
(i.e., residences, office buildings, institutions,
recreational vehicles, and retail stores) shall be prohibited:
Provided that this section shall not apply to specialty
products, such as tile grout additives or cooling tower
biocides.
(2) No tributyltin-containing paint, stain, paint
additives, or similar products as specified in subsection (1)
of this section may be registered for distribution unless its
label clearly indicates that it shall not be used on interior
surfaces of inhabited structures or that it shall be used on
exterior surfaces only.
