City-owned or -leased motor vehicles shall be used exclusively for the conduct of municipal business as provided in this chapter.

12.07.020 Normal Work Hours – Location.

City vehicles are normally available for use at municipal work locations. The mayor may authorize assignment of vehicles to a particular department or person if the mayor deems such assignment necessary for a municipal purpose or, in lieu of assigning a City vehicle, may authorize the payment of a personal automobile allowance in particular cases when an allowance is less costly than assigning a vehicle. The mayor makes such reports regarding the use of municipal vehicles and the payment of personal automobile allowances as he desires or the council requests.
