(1) Primary enforcement responsibility of this chapter
belongs with county sheriffs. However, other entities that may
enforce this chapter include:
(a) The department;
(b) The Washington state patrol;
(c) County or municipal police forces;
(d) Authorized personnel of the United States forest
service; and
(e) Authorized personnel of the department of fish and
wildlife.
(2) The legislature encourages county sheriffs' offices to
enter into interlocal agreements with these other agencies in
order to receive additional assistance with their enforcement
responsibilities.
