Transfer of ownership of mobile home, county
assessor notified -- Evidence of taxes paid. (Effective until July
1, 2011.)
When the ownership of a mobile home is transferred and
the new owner thereof applies for a new certificate of ownership
for such mobile home, the department of licensing or its agents,
including county auditors, shall notify the county assessor of
the county where such mobile home is located of the change in
ownership including the name and address of the new owner and the
name of the former owner. A certificate of ownership for a
mobile home shall not be transferred or issued until the
department has verified that any taxes due on the sale of the
mobile home under *chapter 82.45 RCW and any other taxes due
under chapter 84.52 RCW have been paid.
A copy of the real estate excise tax affidavit which has
been stamped by the county treasurer shall be deemed sufficient
evidence that the taxes due upon the sale of a used mobile home
have been paid.
A copy of a treasurer certificate, which is prepared by the
treasurer of the county in which the used mobile home is located
and which states that all property taxes due upon the used mobile
home being sold have been satisfied, shall be deemed sufficient
evidence that the property taxes due have been paid.
