(1) The
legislature recognizes that the law enforcement memorial license
plate has been reviewed by the special license plate review board
as specified in chapter 196, Laws of 2003, and was found to fully
comply with all provisions of chapter 196, Laws of 2003.
(2) The department shall issue a special license plate
displaying a symbol, approved by the special license plate review
board, honoring law enforcement officers in Washington killed in
the line of duty. The special license plate may be used in lieu
of regular or personalized license plates for vehicles required
to display one or two vehicle license plates, excluding vehicles
registered under chapter 46.87 RCW, upon the terms and conditions
established by the department.
