(1) The K-20
technology account is hereby created in the state treasury. The
department of information services shall deposit into the account
moneys received from legislative appropriations, gifts, grants,
and endowments for the buildout and installation of the K-20
telecommunication system. The account shall be subject to
appropriation and may be expended solely for the K-20
telecommunication system. Disbursements from the account shall
be on authorization of the director of the department of
information services with approval of the board.
(2) During the 2003-2005 biennium, the legislature may
transfer moneys from the K-20 technology account to the state
general fund such amounts as reflect the excess fund balance of
the account.
