LIVING QUARTERS FOR HOMELESS MOTHERS

5.92.010 Definitions.

A. “Living quarters for homeless mothers” means a building or buildings occupied for living quarters by not more than eight homeless mothers and their children.

B. “Mother” includes expectant mothers. (Ord. 1989 § 1, 1994)

5.92.020 License.

A license shall be obtained to operate a living quarters for homeless mothers, unless exempted as a bona fide charitable organization or otherwise. (Ord. 1989 § 2, 1994)

5.92.030 Adult supervisor.

A living quarters for homeless mothers shall have an adult supervisor residing on the premises. (Ord. 1989 § 3, 1994)

5.92.040 Maximum number of persons.

The maximum number of persons, including mothers, children, and supervisor(s) shall not exceed 21 in any living quarters. (Ord. 1989 § 4, 1994)

5.92.050 Preference.

Preference for living quarters shall be given to homeless mothers attending educational facilities, with preference given in the following order:

A. Mothers attending high school or high school completion/G.E.D. programs;

B. Mothers attending college level classes at a local community college.

A mother attending college level classes or participating in an educational program other than high school or G.E.D. programs should be allowed to complete the school year before preference is given to a mother attending high school. (Ord. 1989 § 5, 1994)
