8.28.010 Arterial highways designated.

Those streets and parts of streets described in ECC 8.64.020 are hereby declared to be arterial highways for the purpose of this section. [Ord. 1169 § 34, 1966].

8.28.020 Erection of stop signs or yield signs; stopping and entering.

A. The city shall erect, or cause to be erected and maintained, standard stop signs or yield signs with respect to those streets designated as arterial highways under ECC 8.64.020.

B. The operator of any vehicle entering upon any city-designated arterial highway or state arterial highway from any other public highway or private way shall come to a complete stop before entering the arterial highway when stop signs are erected as provided under subsection A of this section. 8.28.030 Penalty.

Unless otherwise provided by state statute, adopted by reference, court rule or by this municipal code, any person violating any provision of this chapter shall be guilty of a traffic infraction and shall be sentenced to a fine not to exceed $1,000 for each offense. [Ord. 2853 § 50, 1991].
