6.65.010 Creation – Purpose.

The Edmonds fire department has been created in order to provide fire protection services and emergency medical services, as well as disaster preparation and coordination in accordance with Chapter 6.60 ECC and to otherwise protect life and property and promote the health, safety and welfare of the general public. No provision of these ordinances and nothing in the creation of the Edmonds fire department shall be interpreted to create or otherwise establish any particular class or group of persons who will or would be especially protected or benefited by the creation of said fire department by the provision of services by its members or by the budgeting of services by the annual budget ordinance.
