9.26.010 Public cardroom defined.
“Public cardroom” shall be interpreted to mean a place where a person, firm or corporation, for a fee of anything of value, allows card games to be played, and such term shall have such further meaning as it has under RCW Title 9.46 and under the rules of the Washington State Gambling Commission, the same by this reference being adopted by this chapter and being made a part thereof. 9.26.020 Prohibited.
Public cardrooms are prohibited. (Ord. 598 § 2, 1987)
9.26.030 Social card rooms exempted.
“Social cardrooms” and the playing or cards therein are not prohibited by this chapter. (Ord. 598 § 3, 1987)
9.26.040 Violation—Penalty.
Violation of this chapter is a misdemeanor, and any person, organization or corporation convicted of violation of this chapter shall be punished by a fine in a sum not to exceed five hundred dollars, or by imprisonment for not more than thirty days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. 9.26.050 Effective date.
This chapter shall be in full force and effect at the date provided by the laws and statutes of the state of Washington. (Ord. 598 § 6, 1987)
9.26.060 Severability.
Should any section of this chapter be declared null and void or of no effect by any court or courts, that section only shall be affected and the other sections of this chapter shall remain in full force and effect. (Ord. 598 § 7, 1987)
