VOLUNTEER FIREMEN’S RELIEF AND PENSION SYSTEM

2.48.010 Participation authorized.

The city of Battle Ground hereby elects to qualify itself and its volunteer fire department for participation and to participate in the volunteer firemen’s relief and pension fund, in accordance with the provisions of RCW Chapter 41.24 and any acts amendatory thereof, and elects to enroll every fireman under the relief and compensation provisions of said laws, and also authorizes any fireman, so elected, to enroll under the pension provisions of said laws and to avail himself of the retirement provisions of this act. 2.48.020 Number of members in volunteer fire department designated.

The number of members in the volunteer fire department shall not exceed twenty-five members for each one thousand of the population, that number being deemed necessary in the judgment of the city council. (Ord. 26 § 2, 1953)

2.48.030 City council to designate member as trustee.

The city council, by a majority vote, shall designate one of its members to be a member of the board of trustees of the volunteer firemen’s relief and pension fund. (Ord. 26 § 3, 1953)
