Links to Institutions Performing Research Affecting Local Government Policy
A number of public and private institutions, many of them academic, are involved in important research affecting local government and public administration. Subjects such as government finance, land use and transportation planning, social programs, and public policy are studied and reported. The findings are often used by legislators and government administrators in shaping policy.
Below are a listing of institutions that conduct local government and public administration research. If you notice an institution of merit missing from this list, please feel free to inform us at the MRSC Library. A listing of more libertarian "think tanks" may be accessed at the Cascade Policy Institute's Public Policy Web Site list. An additional list of Policy Institutes may be accessed from Google. Also available is a list of Professional Organizations and Agencies of Interest to Washington Local Governments.
