JOB SUMMARY

Conducts tennis program and provides administrative support to the tennis center staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Provides tennis instruction.

· Develops and maintains summer camp programs.

· Supervises daily classes and acts as lead to junior tennis instructors.

· Coordinates special events.

· Supervises front-desk staff.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Works under the general supervision of a Recreation Supervisor.

Exercises supervise over temporary/seasonal staff and volunteers, as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRMENTS

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in business or other related fields.

Two or more years of professional related experience in tennis instruction or coaching and customer service as well as supervisory experience.

Or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

CPR and First Aid certification required.

US Professional Tennis Registry and US Professional Tennis Association certifications preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Considerable knowledge of recreation philosophy, planning and administration; Considerable knowledge of the equipment, facilities, operations and techniques used in a comprehensive community recreation program;

Skill in First Aid and CPR.

Ability to develop, coordinate, and direct varied activities involved in a community recreation program; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other agencies, participants, instructors, community leaders, and the general public; Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; Ability to plan and supervise the work of paid staff and volunteers.
