JOB SUMMARY
Performs administrative and supervisory functions in overseeing the maintenance of the City's golf courses.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Hires, trains and supervises staff and crew.
· Coordinates assignments and projects
· Inspects courses.
· Attends meetings; performs budget reviews.
· Orders equipment and supplies.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Works under the general supervision of an Operations Manager.
Exercises supervision over Technical and Maintenance staff in the department, as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Graduation from high school or a GED equivalent.
Five or more years of progressively responsible related experience.
Or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Occupational Blood Born Pathogens and Pesticide License required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of equipment, materials and supplies used in golf course maintenance; working knowledge of equipment and supplies used to do minor repairs; Knowledge in the proper and safe techniques of golf course maintenance; Some knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions.
Ability to work independently and to complete daily activities according to work schedule; Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time; Ability to communicate orally and in writing; Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely; Ability to establish effective working relationships.
Ability to organize, analyze, interpret and evaluate problems and provide practical, cost effective solutions; ability to juggle multiple priorities; ability to communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, contractors and the general public, both orally and in writing.
Ability to plan, organize and monitor the work and activities of self and direct reports; ability to plan, organize and monitor activities according to priorities, established schedules and deadlines.
Ability to provide leadership, counsel, motivation and constructive performance reviews to staff, securing their respective commitments to the project's goals.
