Municipal Criminal Justice Distributions

The Washington Office of Community Development has issued forecasts of the distribution of municipal criminal justice funding under SSB 5780. As discussed on pages 7-8 of Budget Suggestions for 2004 (Adobe Acrobat Document388 KB), SSB 5780 has changed the criteria for the distribution of funding for CTED program areas 1 through 3 -- Innovative law enforcement services, programs for at-risk youth, and programs that reduce domestic violence.

Rather than having cities apply for grants in these areas, the funds in the three program areas will be combined and distributed on a per capita basis, beginning calendar year 2004. A memo sent by the Office of Community Development (Adobe Acrobat Document131 KB) gives further information about this change and the attached spreadsheet (Adobe Acrobat Document453 KB) gives estimates of the distributions for each city.
