ACH Basics and Fraud ProtectionPresenter(s): Jennifer Verdugo, Jim Petkovits, Wendy Cole-Deardorff ACH transaction growth has averaged over 15% the past five years because more companies are paying their employees via direct deposit and collecting payments via ACH. This class will introduce the process and benefits of ACH and the traditional uses of ACH such as Direct Deposit and Direct Payment. We will briefly describe e-Check transactions such as WEB - internet transactions, TEL - telephone authorized transactions, POP - point-of-purchase transactions and ARC - accounts receivable payments processed by a lockbox and how to refuse unauthorized transactions. We will also cover your rights and responsibilities for these transactions. Information will be presented on the nuts and bolts of how your organization can get started with electronic payments.
Fighting Financial Fraud: Fraud on the Internet, stolen credit cards being used -- the stories are numerous and scary. What type of fraud is perpetuated on the Internet? What losses are being taken on credit cards? What do your customers need to be aware of? What fraud threats do you face on your websites? Come hear all that and more! Discussions on prevention of ACH fraud, checks being converted into ACH items and the warranties of Originators will be discussed along with how to secure your wire procedures and policies. This class will cover the ins and outs of fraud in our major payment systems.
Government application of ACH: Discover the time and cost savings that come from remitting electronically and how government is using technology to benefit you. Also learn about the withholding and remitting of child support including Internet, ACH Credit, ACH Debit and Pay by Phone. CPE - 6 hours Registration fee is $50 (includes lunch) Registration opens at 8:00 AM. Class begins at 8:30 AM and ends at 3:30 PM.
