Cash Management & Capital ProjectsPresenter(s): Greg Allison Two of the most important, and often frustrating, fiscal responsibilities of government finance officials are cash management and capital asset management. This one-day course will spend approximately half of the day on cash management practices, related internal control issues, and investment techniques for governmental entities, as well as accounting and financial reporting guidelines related to cash and investments (e.g, GASB Statement No. 31 on Fair Value Accounting, GASB Statement No. 40 on Collateralization and Investment Risks, GASB Statement No. 53 on Derivatives). We will then switch to a focus on capital asset management. Many recent GASB pronouncements deal with capital asset or capital project accounting and financial reporting – GASB Statement No. 34 (Infrastructure), 42 (Asset Impairment), 51 (Intangible Assets), and related implementation guides. CPE - 8 hours Registration fee is $125 (includes lunch) Registration opens at 8:00 AM. Class begins at 8:30 AM and ends at 5:00 PM.
