Cash Basis-Governmental AccountingPresenter(s): Toni Nelson, Duane Walz This course is designed for people who are new to governmental accounting and specifically addresses “Cash Basis” governmental accounting. The course will cover basic governmental accounting such as explaining and defining the funds and their purposes. In addition the class will cover more complex issues such as debt, capital projects, and proprietary fund’s specialized applications and reporting. The primary focus of the course is to develop an understanding of day to day fund accounting. It will cover accounting rules for using various fund types, revenue and expenditure recognition, and specific problem areas associated with “cash basis” fund accounting.
This course emphasizes governmental accounting, not the area of financial reporting or the discussion of the BARS manual. CPE - 8 hours Registration fee is $100 (includes lunch) Registration opens at 7:30 AM. Class begins at 8:00 AM and ends at 4:30 PM.
