Cash Basis Financial Reporting

The class will cover all aspects of the preparation and presentation of a “Cash Basis” Annual Financial Report for Local Government. The training session will include a comprehensive review of all of the required statements, schedules and notes for cash basis financial reporting. In addition there will be training provided for electronic reporting, data uploads to the SAO website and discussion on internal review procedures associated with the preparation of the annual financial report as required by SAS 112/115

Course materials shall include the SAO cash basis annual report schedules, statements and notes on CD (excel and word format) along with a sample “Cash Basis” Annual Financial report for your entity type. All entity types are encouraged to attend, whether you are a City, County, Special Purpose District, Fire, Library, Conservation, Port or Transit there is a reporting requirement for your entity type. If you have elected to report “Cash Basis” this class will provide you with the training and materials needed to comply with this reporting requirement.

Please bring your prior year annual financial report plus year end financials (revenue/ expenditure reports, cash and investment activity &/or treasurer’s report) for class use and reference.
