State Regulation of Natural Gas Resources and Distribution
Under RCW 80.01.040, the Utilities and Transportation Commission regulates the rates, services, facilities, and practices of all persons engaging within this state in the business of supplying gas to the public for compensation. Under Chapter 78.52 RCW, the Department of Natural Resources regulates gas resources -- exploration and underground storage.
