• 10:05 Terry Wittman, MyNeighborhood Map Manager, Seattle
  Terry, along with one of the city of Seattle's GIS analysts, will demonstrate the MyNeighborhood mapping system which includes the following types of information:
  • Services - Services are provided to residents and visitors by City departments, and includes police precincts, fire stations and various offerings within neighborhood parks. The Services tab contains a menu of categories to choose from on the right hand side of the page (Community, Public Safety, Utilities, Parks, Transportation, General and Arts & Recreation) and each category has a list of specific features. Individualized icons are used to mark the physical location of a service. When you click on an icon, the Item Details box at the top right gives you specific information about the site location, or you can go to the designated website. New services are continually being added to this category, so keep checking out the page.
  • Impacts - Impacts are things that will happen in your neighborhood, therefore impacting your ability to get around. Currently there is one subject, Real Time 9-1-1 calls. Through information provided by the Seattle Fire Department, you can view their calls for service on a midnight to midnight basis.
  • Statistics - Seattle Police Department Crime Data for individual crimes in 2006 is shown on a month by month basis. Historical data is presented on an annual basis, going back 10 years by individual crimes.

  • Extranets (security, infrastructure side of exposing intranets to staff at home, etc)
