Introduction to MRSC Web Info for Special Purpose Districts

Welcome Washington Special Purpose Districts!

Beginning July 1, 2007, MRSC is providing limited services to Washington's special purpose districts.   The legislature gave authority to  the Municipal Research Council to extend services to special purpose districts in 2006, but the funding provisions of the bill were not enacted.  This year, the legislature appropriated a small amount from the state general fund for the 2007-09 biennium to fund the new program. Given the potential demand for service and a relatively small appropriation, MRSC will focus on training, publications and the posting of materials for special districts on the MRSC web site (See Welcome Page).  We take pride in our mission of working together for excellence in local government and we looking forward to serving you.

MRSC has created this welcoming page as an introduction to MRSC's services and as an aid to access the information on  MRSC's Web pages of interest to Washington's special purpose governments.  Our Web site contains nearly 2000 subject pages, 7000 sample documents,  MRSC publications, and other reference material related to local government administration.  Many of  these will be useful to special district governments.

Since this is a new program, additional pages will be created containing information focused on your needs.   Through this Web site,  MRSC provides a forum for information sharing among Washington local governments. We will need your assistance to build a library of documents specific to the needs of Washington's special purpose governments.
